The Protection of Copyright on Social Media
On April 27th, US Government Alumni Association of Georgia hosted a public lecture on the topic of “Protection of Copyright on Social Media”.
The lecture was part of the Intellectual Property Law Training Project, funded by the US Embassy in Georgia.
The lecture focused on the protection of the copyright of the work uploaded on the social network, the possibility of considering the text published on the social network as a work, the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the copyright infringer on the social network and other issues.
The lecture was held by a member of the association, Levan Nanobashvili., lawyer, and a managing partner of the law firm NB Legal. Levan teaches Internet Law at the University of Georgia and Intellectual Property Law at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.
