Alumni Highlights - Elene Medzmariashvili

In the scope of Alumni Highlights Project, this Wednesday we are sharing story of IVLP 2001 and Fulbright 2006 alumna of Elene Medzmariashvili

Prof.Medzmariashvili became an elected member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Observatory on History Teaching in Europe. The Observatory is a new co-operation activity of the Council of Europe in the field of history education. It was established in November 2020. Initially with 17 member States, the Observatory will operate as an enlarged partial agreement. It will build on the Council of Europe’s decades-long experience in history education, while complementing and strengthening its intergovernmental programme. There are 11 elected members in the Scientific Advisory Council.

Prof.Medzmariashvili, who is a prominent academic historian and researcher, is representing Georgia and the whole Eastern Europe.

Currently, Elene is a professor, Head of Master’s and Doctoral Programs in American Studies at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University
