Alumni Highlights - Ana Abesadze
See another Alumni Highlight story of Anna Abesadze FLEX 2010:
Anna has just finished her contract working as a Scholarship Program Coordinator at the Texas A&M Foundation for the past 4 years. Last year she was honored to serve as an invited speaker of the world-class, NSPA annual Conference.
After completing FLEX program and coming back to Georgia, she was accepted at Tbilisi State University, receiving presidential scholarship for academic excellence. At the same time, she was working on different projects at NGOs and International Organizations in Georgia, Turkey and Bulgaria. She received the award recognizing work ethic and dedication to work by U.S. Department of State and was nominated as “a Host Country Hero” by Peace Corps.
In 2015, Anna was accepted at Rice University for her MA studies but she decided to accept another, full-ride scholarship in Estonia funded by European Commission. She became a recipient of additional stipend from Tallinn University for academic excellence and also served as a Vice-President of International Relations Society.
In spite of being far away from home, Anna has been trying to serve as an agent of change for her community. She virtually consulted and helped youth, and shared her experience. She is proud to have found a temporary donor for her homeschool, in the framework of which, 2 students were provided with a stipend for a year. She is getting back to Georgia and hopes to have more opportunities to give back to her town and country.
